Professionally: I am a postdoctoral researcher at University of Oulu in the Interact research group. My background is in information security, and I did my PhD (2017) in University of Oulu in Information Processing Science, focusing on web 2.0, social media, and children’s online safety. I have previously completed my bachelor studies in Business Information Technology (2005) in Kemi-Tornio University of Technology in Finland, and my master and licentiate in computer and systems science (2007, 2013) at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.
After my PhD I have migrated also towards researching digital fabrication and making, and completed FabAcademy in 2018. My main research interest is still adolescent online safety, and I have continued to work on the topic for example a one year research exchange to University of Central Florida in 2019-2020.
Personally: I am a Vans enthusiast and T-shirt aficionado. On my free time I mostly hang out with my cats, stream B-quality TV shows, and think about taking up sports before it is too late. I also enjoy fiddling with my phone, laughing at memes, and trying to keep up with the ever changing social media scene with the help of my nephews.
