Working on the project for two different organizations. First at Luleå University of Technology as a part of the research team, and later in University of Oulu (Meri-Lappi Institute) in the administrative team.

The aim of the Interreg III A North “Development of information security competence in Bothnian arc region with international cooperation between universities” -project (aka “InforSec”) was the development of information security competence in the Bothnian Arc Region with collaboration between the following partners from Finland and Sweden: Universities of Lapland, Luleå, Oulu and Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences. Meri-Lappi institute was the coordinator for the project.

In Inforsec, my research tasks included e.g. carrying out a systematic review of information security literature in MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Communication of ACM. Journal of management information systems and Management Science to identify research trends in the area of information security, i.e. what are the dominant focus and perspective used in information security research. I also carried out quantitative analysis of answers to a survey with the purpose to create contacts with companies and other actors in the region and to initiate research and development projects.

My administrative tasks included e.g. helping the project manager coordinate the work of different project partners, arranging different meetings and preparing minutes, as well as helping prepare the final report for the project, as well as compiling a public project book to give a wider audience an introduction to the work done during the project, the experiences gained, the cross-boarder collaboration, and of course the research produced.
