Make4Change project aims to strengthen the employability of unemployed, young people and immigrants outside the labor market through digital fabrication and making. It will also strengthen their participation in Finnish society, support their employment and help prevent a culture of unemployment – in Northern Ostrobothnia and elsewhere. The project is funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds
The national Digital Education for All -project aims to make the first year university studies on information processing science open to everyone. Providing the education are University of Helsinki, Aalto University, University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, and University of Turku.

Past projects
2019: Luno was a collaborative project between University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences that aimed to increase the proportion of female students in post-secondary education in the software industry. It was funded by the European Social Fund.
2018: Oulu University, DeMaKids project aimed to 1) empower children through technology making and designerly thinking in education and 2) develop new tools in cooperation with schools and the educational sector for educating children in technology making and designerly thinking. Funded by North-Osthrobothnia Regional Fund.
2012-2013: Luleå University of Technology, BCBU + (Barents Cross Border University Development), funded by Kolarctic ENPI
